They razed paradise to put up a tennis court

Never mind that this is a park – and what’s a park without trees? Never mind that this is the CP Garcia Park no less. Never mind that right in front of it, stands the esteemed Hall of Justice. Never mind that a few meters away, there, too, stands the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office. Never mind that there’s an actual law, RA 3571, that actually prohibits the “cutting, destroying or injuring of planted or growing trees, flowering plants and shrubs or plants of scenic value along public roads, in plazas, parks, school premises or in any other public ground”.
